Is there a recommended plugin for Sorting Posts especially on the front page?

Try one of these or better yet do it without a plugin.

I spent a few hours on wordpress.org today checking out the plugins and some looked promising but none had exactly what I was looking for.

I will try it without a plugin however I am not a php person but know how to copy and paste.
