Embedded Video Not Showing Up
 

I'm having repeat complaints about the embedded video not showing up. I'm not talking about the "loading" purgatory sometimes experienced when using Vimeo or YouTube... I'm talking about ZERO. Just black boxes. This has been an issue with multiple video hosts (youtube, vimeo, etc). It's not the GoDaddy servers. They suggested it's a theme issue.

All your front page videos played fine for me. Could be a bandwidth issue with some of your users?

I assure you, it's not a bandwidth issue. Our server company witnessed it yesterday, as well. It's like the embed code just goes bad temporarily. It doesn't pull anything(video) through. Just black boxes. We thought it might be an issue with older versions of IE... but that doesn't seem to be the case either. It's a code issue, i think.

If it was a code issue, they just wouldn't work at all - or they wouldn't work in a particular browser.

That's what I thought. We chalked it up to browser issues until yesterday when our rep at GoDaddy witnessed it using FireFox. Heck, it still could be. This is frustrating to say the least.

Yep, this kind of intermittant behaviour is always frustrating. :-/

How are you embedding the video?

We're embedding video pretty typically. Here's a sample of the code:
