WP Store Plugin versus hosted store on subdomain
I have a couple sites with decent traffic and am now thinking of adding a store to each. I would appreciate any comment about your ecommerce experiences related to WP integration. I've identified two options:
1. Add a Wordpress store plugin 2. Use a hosted store service like BigCommerce or Magento Go, set it up on a subdomain, and make the header look the same and include many of the same links back to the site, etc. so it feels more integrated. Graphically I think both solutions will be similar. I really like option #2 because it allows me to use some of the latest industry-best features like Google Base integration, advanced SEO functionality, etc. Does anyone have any advice or insights? Jerry I've used a stand alone, hosted store service in the past |
I've found that most ecommerce plugins are really lacking, so it depends on what you are putting into your store. cart-66 is decent for a simple shop and integrates directly into WP, which I like for simplicity. However, if you need a more full featured shop, I'd go with the second option as well.
