Thanks Jon,

That does allow me to cut off the text a predesigned point, but I cannot customize it like a can an excerpt. For example, an excerpt would let me place a thumbnail in the excerpt only.

I figured out the solution. Need to have at least 2 posts that are to be pulled.

It does still load funny (ie. img flashes and hangs for about .5 second)
