Looking at the Showcase and all of the themes that are being shown, Custom comes up quite a bit.
Don't see it in the "shop for themes" Is that just basically the Genesis Framework being customized? |

Custom is a child theme the developer made from scratch or via the sample child theme. It didn't start with one of the other themes.

Thanks for the reply Nick.....
So it is from here?: http://www.studiopress.com/free-themes/sample What is the advantage of using that instead of the other themes? |

It might be from that theme or it might be totally custom.
Personally I start with the Sample child theme for all my projects so I have a blank slate, but many developers prefer to have something relatively close to the end product which is why there are many themes in the showcase that start with one of the child themes.

I am getting pretty familiar with Wordpress, Genesis and the various themes and modifying them to a certain extent.
Next I will try the Custom. Thanks! |
