Default Purchase Theme without Genesis?

Hi. I purchased a theme last month as well as the Genesis Framework.

I am NOT happy with Genesis. I am a novice web designer, I just want to edit the header/footer/body/ ALL the files WITHOUT having to go through Genesis. I want to have access to everything without Genesis.

Is this possible? Can I get a refund for Genesis and JUST purchase the theme?

The child themes require Genesis to function

@hsquared99 - Hi, I am like yourself a novice designer, but I think you must be missing something with Genesis and the Chid Themes. In theory you never or VERY rarely have to edit the Genesis Framework, and the StudioPress Child Themes only have about 5 files to edit. I use StudioPress, and buy about 2 themes a month from ThemForest, but I must say editing StudioPress themes are soooo much easier that the TF themes.

Good Luck with your designs

Ha. well maybe I'm not so novice then! I want access to the header, footer, body of the theme. I need to make programming changes to my files and just can't do it with the Genesis files. I want to do more than the CSS files.

thanks everybody

You have access to all of those through hooks. If you are planning on keeping the theme then you should read through all the tutorials as well as Nick's Genesis Explained series (link in my sig).
