Hi guys,
If I installed the genesis framework with a standard wordpress theme, would it work and would there be any benefit out of it??? Tutorials say Genesis is like the car and the child theme is the paintwork and if that is true any theme should work not just a child theme? |

No, the other theme *has* to be a Genesis child theme specifically.
If you use a different theme that is not a Genesis child theme, that other themes has NO instructions to go use Genesis in it. Thus it will not. Using another standard WP theme is, to carry the example, like getting in another car.
