Default Suggestion for Editing Support for Non-Experts

I'm relatively new to coding and in my research have discovered there are a bunch of different ways pages are coded so it makes it a long process to figure out which parts to edit on my SP theme. I think it would be incredibly helpful for the SP themes to come with a template of how each coding section correlates to the parts of the pages themselves.

ie. Show graphic of a main page, blog page, etc. and have little notes attached identifying which tags are associated with the parts of the pages like H1, contents, post area, navbar, sidebar, etc. I know some of them would be redundant on each page, but it would really help me know where to start when trying to fine tune my theme.

Anyone else think that might be helpful?
