Default Thumbnails not showing up on Property Post or Home Page

Hi All:

I have read the tutorials and tried changing the path to my images to the shortened one, but have not had any success with the thumbnails showing up ever. Any more tips or ideas?

I appreciate your assistance!

:) Thanks!

Hi,

What are your permissions settings for:

tools folder
tools/cache folder
timthumb.php
(all of the above are in the Agent theme folder)

Who do you host with?

thanks for the input...I appreciate your guidance

My tools/cache folder was not 777, but the others were...now they are all 777

I host with GoDaddy.com

I changed the permissions, but still no thumbnails...do I need to anything to make them show up?

Thanks again for your assistance...very quick too.

You can't use 777 on a script file. Change timthumb.php to 664.

Try this permissions scheme instead:

tools folder 755
tools/cache 755
timthumb.php 644

(Do you actually have a tools/cache folder?)

Thanks very much for adew's help on this...it seems as though the final permissions changed did the trick!

Try this permissions scheme instead:

tools folder 755
tools/cache 755
timthumb.php 644

And thanks Brian for the follow up! :)

The easiest way to do it is to use an FTP client. There may be a way to do it via your hosting control panel too, but I never use godaddy so can't comment on this. FTP is the easiest solution.

I am trying to get the thumbnails working before i populate the site. I feel like I am getting close and think it is a permissions issue. Is there a way to confrim? www.carmelrealestateguide.com.

What permissions are you using at the moment?
One of the posts has a .php file referenced in the thumb custom field!
Have you tried using the "short" form URL, ie without the domain name?

Default thumbnails

I removed the other posts and just kept one to try and make it work.

I tried the short form url and it didn't work.

Where do i look for permissions? I can go in the control panel, find the file, but don't know where to look when i open the code.

BTW, thanks for helping. I'm new to this and really appreciate it.
