I am not able to do alot of the customization as laid out in the videos.

2 when i try to upload picutures i get Error saving media attachment.

could you please tell me what i might be doing wrong.

what happens when you edit using a text editor/ftp client, and make the changes offline?

you can edit your files by using the editor under "Appearance" in your dashboard - but I don't recommend doing that
Personally, I use CoffeeCup DirectFTP - I can open the file in the program, make changes, then FTP (File Transfer Protocol) it back into my server.
Sometimes, if your file permissions aren't set correctly, you can't edit using the editor.

Where does the error appear? In your dashboard? Can you screenshot it for me?

Thanks again for the quick reply.

All of the installation was done by the people hosting my page so all i can do and have been trying to do is as follows

Dashboard to Appearance to Editor after i click Editor this is what comes up

Sorry, can’t edit files with “..” in the name. If you are trying to edit a file in your WordPress home directory, you can just type the name of the file in.

other than this it is a blank screen

ah, I see. This is definitely a hosting issue - you'll need to contact the people who installed this for you, and send them a copy of the error.
