Having issues with landing/static page

Hi,

I want my visitors to arrive at a static page, have the option of watching a video, and then go to my homepage. Under the reading options I picked the page I wanted to then when I offer a link or hit "home" it just stays on that static page. What am I doing wrong?

If you have set the page for "Front page displays" then that becomes your home page. If it's not redirecting to the page try renaming home.php to old-home.php

Is there a better way to do it?

I just want when people land on our site to automatically go to :

mrandmrswedding.com/companyvideo

and then that page would have a link to our regular homepage.

Set your landing page as the front page in Reading then change the home.php file into a page template. Use that page template for a new page titled "Home" and create a custom menu so that that page is the only "Home" link.
