Changing Border & border color around page: Family Tree Theme

I am working on the Family Tree theme and needed pointers on how to change the border around the page. It currently has this curvy border on the header and footer I want to make it straight and also change the line color on to something besides orange.

I've been trying to post on the theme page and keep getting this message don't know why. I have the genesis framework and did activate my forum with the ID # received but it doesn't work.

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
