Default No read more thingy anywhere...

I dont have thje "read more" thingy on my "home page post" or "category section".
I guess it has something to do with page_blog.php from what I gathered reading around.
This is what I have currently on page_blog.php
I have not touched it. Its the default file. Please help!
Code:
<?php
/*
Template Name: Blog
*/
?>

<?php get_header(); ?>

<div id="content">

	<div id="contentleft">

		<div class="postarea">

		<?php include(TEMPLATEPATH."/breadcrumb.php");?>

			<?php $page = (get_query_var('paged')) ? get_query_var('paged') : 1; query_posts("cat=".get_theme_mod('blog_cat')."&showposts=".get_theme_mod('blog_cat_num')."&paged=$page"); while ( have_posts() ) : the_post() ?>

			<h1><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h1>

			<div class="date">

				<div class="dateleft">
					<p><span class="time"><?php the_time('F j, Y'); ?></span> <?php _e("by", 'studiopress'); ?> <?php the_author_posts_link(); ?> &nbsp;<?php edit_post_link(__('(Edit)', 'studiopress'), '', ''); ?> <br /> <?php _e("Filed under", 'studiopress'); ?> <?php the_category(', ') ?></p>
				</div>

				<div class="dateright">
					<p><span class="icomment"><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>#comments"><?php comments_number(__('Leave a Comment', 'studiopress'), __('1 Comment', 'studiopress'), __('% Comments', 'studiopress')); ?></a></span></p>
				</div>

			</div>

			<?php the_excerpt(); ?><div class="clear"></div>

			<div class="postmeta2">
				<p><span class="tags"><?php _e("Tags", 'studiopress'); ?>: <?php the_tags('') ?></span></p>
			</div>

			<?php endwhile; ?>

			<p><?php posts_nav_link(); ?></p>

		</div>

	</div>

<?php get_sidebar(); ?>

</div>

<?php get_footer(); ?>

These pages are generated using the home.php and archive.php theme files, not the page_blog.php theme file. What are the urls to example pages with the problem you describe?

My archive,php and blog_page.php are different from whats mentioned in this tutorial here http://www.studiopress.com/support/s...ad.php?t=19267
I know they are talking about something else, but the code snippet they are talking about doesn't exist for me at all. So was concerned.

Anyways. Please see my pages.
<edit>

I have no read more link. Only way to view the complete post is to click the title. Pl help.
