Cool Featured Content Plugin
Featured Content Plugin that needs to be used by your Allure Theme is only compatible to WP version 2.7. This is really a problem because many of the other great plugins require the latest version of WP.

How can I work around this?

They haven't updated their site in a while, but I'm sure it's compatible to the latest version. However, we are STRONGLY recommending the use of the Dynamic Content Gallery plugin, which is pretty much the same thing - only better coded and supported by Ade, who is a Senior moderator here.
