There are quite a few elements that make up the menu, so you need to be a little more specific. Eg, the menu bar, just the menu items, the rollover colour etc?

Add a background color to #navbar to change it from white.

Edit the background color in #nav li a:hover, #nav li a:active and #nav li a, #nav li a:link, #nav li a:visited for the menu items.

Do all of this in style.css.
