If you only want them to show on certain pages, you'd have to create a page template and probably a different sidebar so you could code that Adsense in. Then you would use that page template for the template on pages where you wanted it to show.

Many thanks for this. Would I have to create a page template for each page I wanted adsense ads on and how involved would the coding be? I am an absolute novice and know nothing about coding and unfortunately I'm doing this on a non existent budget.
