Works fine

Works fine, in fact the original didn't have the update notifications and worked with a text file.

This version is much better.

I use it in conjunction with the php code widget
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/php-code-widget/

That way I can place the php call in the theme widget and my theme has all it's original functionality.
