You can go two ways here. You can repalce the tags in archive.php and home.php with the content tag and cut each post off using the  tag in the post editor or just change the content_limit function in home.php ( <?php the_content_limit(350, "Read more of this article", 'studiopress'); ?> ) with the excerpt tag and get a plugin that gives you greater control over the excerpt like Better Excerpt or Excerpt Reloaded.
