It depends on what you mean by a custom post page. If all you want is for your single posts to have a different sidebar from the home page and other pages then you can create a new sidebar, register it, and change the sidebar call at the bottom of index.php. Or try a plugin called "Widget Logic" or "Advanced Text Widget"
If on the other hand if you want several different single post templates then you will need a plugin like "Single Post Template".
