I don't know the classic theme code, but if it was something original to it, everyone would have mentioned it before now and it would have been fixed. Therefore, it's either something custom, something in .htaccess, or just something hiccuping on the server itself. Won't know more unless it happens again and you can see something in the error logs.
I'll close this thread for now - feel free to start a new one if it does occur again.
