  • The easiest way is to use faster server hardware. A VPS is a next step from shared web hosting.


  • A feed is just an XML file. If the browser cached the file for a longer period it would not time out when the file is pulled from cache. Since you are serving this from a sub domain, it may be possible to send an Expire header that is longer than the header on your main domain.


  • You might bypass the feed mechanism (which uses HTTP to retrieve the feed). This should pull the file faster, but may require you to write your own WordPress widget to simulate the feed. It also depends on how your web server handles sub domains. On some hosts, a sub domain is just a sub directory in the file system of the main domain.
