Genesis 1.7 complaint

I have installed Genesis 1.7 on a couple of brand new websites no problem. But I have a couple of mature sites that I need to update in the 1.6 range and I wonder if I can do that without leaping to the first version of 1.7. I have this message: "Genesis 1.6.1 is available. Perhaps I should update through FTP - I have earlier versions of Genesis stored on my harddrive but to make sure I get the latest and greatest for 1.6 - is there a download spot for that? Theoretically, if you are running less than WP 3.2 you will not be prompted to upgrade to 1.7+. So, if you are using WP 3.2 the prompt should be showing an available update to 1.7.1.
