Hi,
I am having the same issue with the random not working on http://cableconnexionsllc.com/index/. I tried GaryJ's suggestion and sure enough it doesn't matter what I set it to it shows the news post first.

I am using WP 3.2.1, Life Style Theme 1.1.1, Genesis Theme 1.7.1.

Thanks in advance for any help!
