Default How to go about recreating this look of a site?

Do you think a design with a Genesis theme (any of them) could be stripped down and be made to look like something like this? How would you even go about doing something like this unique site?

Thanks!

Yes, you can do anything you want with the themes. See this tutorial for the navbar and you set styles for specific pages using body classes.

Okay so when looking at the original website, the background graphics are sliced. It sounds like I should just not have them sliced but keep the image background whole and set it to the body. I suppose back in the older days before high speed connection became popular it was better to slice them for faster download speed. Do you agree with these thoughts?

Thanks Much!
