Default Emailing content to specific categories or pages

Hi All,

I have spent days trying to figure this out. Have posted at the WP forum, no replies.

Recent update to 3.2.1 and Postie appears to no longer work. Mail server is receiving emails but nothing is being added to the site. Have looked high and low for a plugin to allow this needed function... Teachers uploading an announcement via email which is "placed" on their page (post). I have tried to just get the default Post via email in the settings - write area to post something and this is not working either, though it will not work for my needs anyway since it will not post to specific categories.

Is there anything out there that can handle this? It sure seems like there must be others who want this function.

Yes, I have been working closely with the tech guys regarding the server and they say that everything is configured properly. Any help or direction is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately we can't support third party plugins. You will need to contact teh plugin developer for support on why their plugin isn't working. If there is something that needs to be added to the theme, we can help with that.

Thanks for the reply, I'm not asking for support regarding Postie, I am asking if there is anything out there, that anyone might know of, that can do what I need (add content via emailing to specific categories or pages). Any ideas? Might Gravity Forms do something like this?

Gravity Forms allows for post creation, but not via email so far as I know. Here is the Wordpress info on creating post from email
http://codex.wordpress.org/Post_to_y...og_using_email

You can set a default category

Thanks, I read it and several others, the bottom line problem is that one can not specify categories and there are a bunch needed for this site. I will look again at gravity forms, should be just as easy to use a form as email, except for the option of emailing it out to others also... 'preciate your time.
