Default Widgets

Is there a way to place widgets in 2 places?

For example, I want to place a Newsletter Subscription form widget on my homepage.

At the same time, I want that same newsletter form widget to show up on secondary pages in a sidebar.

When I go to "edit" this widget, I'm only able to pick one area to place it.

Any suggestions?

Pick the widget up again from the "Available widgets" area and put it where you want to.

I just tested this exact widget and placed it in the primary and secondary sidebars. Most widgets are multiple use.

Thanks for replying andrea_r!

I was able to place the widget in multiple places, but is there a way to just edit 1 of the widgets and have it update in all the other places the widget is?

Seems like right now the only way to edit it (for example add text below the form) is only editable individually.

That's correct - multiple instances of a widget need to be updated individually.

Take fr example a featured category - you'd want those to be separate and not update all when you change one.

This is core WordPRess behavior, not specific to any widgets included with Genesis.
