Been a member here for several years and used many of your themes to build websites for local businesses.
I'm about to build out a website for a small private Christian school, grades pre-k through 8. I'm going to select a theme from your site and wanted to know about the following... 1) I wanted teachers to be able to have their own blog page where they can post to their own little page within the school website, which of course will be wordpress powered (and your themes). Is there anything special I need to know beforehand --- like, do I need to install wordpress multi-user before starting (there's about 12 teachers in all). 2) Any ideas to enhance or possibly make the site more friendly -- hoping to maybe go after this niche once I develop this out. THanks for any and all advice! |

If you want them to have their own websites then multisite would be the way to go. If you just want their posts separate then you could just create a category for each of them. But multisite would give them more flexibility.
Research other school sites to get an idea of what features/content are commonly included

Thanks SoZo,
I"m about to take a look at multi-site now... However, creating them a separate 'category' seems like an easier fix. I assume multisite is a pretty straight forward setup... Curious about the 'flexibility' multi-site offers as you suggest. Probably makes sense to start in the direction from day one? |

Multisite allows them to use their own theme, plugins, Genesis Options, etc. It's just like having separate WP installations to work with. And it may make it easier for them to control their content instead of having to weed through content added by everyone else in the same database. How straight forward it is depends on your comfort level with WP. Andrea has a tutorial document here.
