Lightbulb What is Causing The Heavy Load

While running a backup zip for my new site, I discover that the size of the site is tremendously big - 6G! OMG, it's a very new site and has only 60 posts up to the present. I really don't know where to check, what kind of giant files that I'm having? Please help.

My link, thank you!

WordPress stores content in two places:

- uploade files under wp-content/upload/. You can check the size of that folder in cpanel.

- in the database. You can check it in phpmyadmin. you can also check each table to see how big it is. phpmyadmin has a column in the far left. Usually post revisions blow things up. In other words, every time you save a post, WP saves a new copy.

I found this! 'snapshot-20110808-1404.tar' - Size: 6.64GB, Type: application/x-tar . What is this, when and how was this generated? From this plugin (can't remember whether I had tried to use to plugin)? Can I delete this? Thank you!

My link.

That looks like a backup file.

Save a copy on your hard drive then delete it off the server.
