We recommend updating to the Lifestyle child theme instead of the classic theme. This offers many benefits including ongoing updates via Genesis to support the latest version of WordPress out of the box.
However, you can edit your theme following this thread so that it works with the latest version of WordPress http://www.studiopress.com/support/s...ad.php?t=53275
