Body class is only used for CSS, not PHP. You can' really change the name bar with CSS, but you can hide elements.
It sounds like you really want to load a new primary nav bar based on what page is being viewed. This is not impossible, but you will have to selectively remove the primary nav and write your own hook to add in the new nav. Since this is customization it is not officially part of support. I can point you in the right direction, but not write all of it for you. What theme is this for?
