When you say you can't upload, what is the exact nature of the problem?

Sounds like you mac settings are such that the zip file is automatically unzipped when you download it. The solution is to zip the folder so you can use the WordPress uploader. Here is a tutorial to help you with this

Hi Nick,

not sure if you can guide me again, yesterday I managed to install the Genesis Framework with your help and have no luck installing the child theme Pure Elegance. I followed the instructions and received a message that the Theme was successful installed but I can not see it in WP. When I previewed Genesis Framework thinking somehow the child theme it now connected to the framework, I see no theme, nothing to edit or change no resemblance of pure elegance child theme. I tried re-installing and got a message error saying this theme has already been installed?? Not sure what to do now.

Presumably, you had to rezip the child theme as well, can you verify that you didn't put it inside Genesis or otherwise edit or nest the directory structure?

Hi Nick,

This is the error message I found
Broken Themes

The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
Name Description
Pure Elegance The parent theme is missing. Please install the "genesis" parent theme.

After you helped me yesterday and I uploaded the Genesis framework this is the text directly underneath the Genesis logo on the Appearance>Themes in WP
Genesis 1.7.1 by StudioPress

Genesis is an advanced Framework for WordPress. Please do not modify this stylesheet, as it will be overridden in Genesis updates.
Activate | Preview | Delete

All of this theme’s files are located in /themes/Archive.

I did not touch the Framework only did as per instructions, left the child theme zipped and uploaded. I did receive a message when the upload was finished in WP that it was successful but its not showing in WP and definitely not in the framework. thanks Penelope
