Thanks. I received feedback from the wp-ecommerce forum.

As far as I can tell from the response, the files can be moved over to the theme folder and modified there. I assume that you would do that so a future installation wouldn't wipeout theme related changes you make to the files.

I moved the files, but I can't see any real reason that I needed to at this point.
