New site - don't want live yet but is published

Thank you for your suggestions. I think I might try one of those maintenance mode plugins. Have since heard that there's really little risk of Google or other search engines finding my brand new sites unless they get linked to. And at this stage, they won't. When they're ready, I'll start promoting them. I wonder though if I might like using one of those plugins just so I can preview before publishing. Having read on these forums that plugins are often at the root of issues with sites, I'm a little timid about using them but know I want some. Thanks again for your suggestions - love this forum!
