Default Align a text widget to the footer

Hi there, I'm using this code

#text-3 {
position: absolute;
top: 100%;
border: none ;
}

to align my text widget with the footer, only trouble is this pushes it outside the site and doesnt align it with the bottom. If I try using 85% it shows different heights cross browser so still doesnt work. Has anyone tried to make this work or understand what I'm doing wrong.

Just looking on my tablet too it floating up the page.

I'm trying to acheive code that will fix images that run from the footer into the sidebar if that helps understand things. There are lots of different images across different pages and the designer wants access to switch the widgets on and off as she pleases.
