It is still like that if I try and edit it in wp, but I have found that when I download it (using filezilla) the home.php is just as it should be so I can alter it and re-upload, so it is fine, thank heavens.

(I still can't get the visual editor to work at all though, so I'm going to make or edit posts in another blog I have - which I haven't updated to new wp 2.8 - and just copy and paste the code into this blog, until hopefully wordpress fix the problem)
