clicking on posts returns 'Not Found, Error 404'

Hi,

When clicking on a post title on the home page I receive a 404 error.

When clicking on 'read more posts from this category' link, that works fine. However, when I
then click on a post title I get the same 404 error.

When I edit a post or add one and click 'view post', before updating - I get the same 404
error message.

The url contains %category instead of the actual category name. This appears to be part of the
problem

Gary, that looks like a permalink problem. Your web site is not coming up right now, but that is what I was going to check first. You may have "%category" where you should have "%category%".

I tried to remove 3 plugins:

The site has now crashed and I cannot get it back up.

I have yesterday's backup - but my host has no import tab for the database!

I will have to wait until my host responds to my support ticket.
