Just one comment on your "may not actually buy you anything". You can change the "may" to "will".

Until GoDaddy gets past using remote dataservers with relatively few connections, they are not a good shared hosting choice for database driven sites like WP, Joomla etc.

Way better economy choices, currently, are Hostgator or Bluehost.
