It won't show you how to make global changes. It gives you a tool to find the appropriate spot in the style sheet to make a change. Take a look at the beginning of this video for an example to change a color.

Above the place where the narrator changes the color there is a file name and line number for the style sheet for that section. Go there to make the change permanent.
