Default Genesis eNews and Update Widget

I have switched to FeedBlitz because I like the functionality of it over FeedBurner but right now, the Genesis eNews and Update Widget can only be used with FeebBurnrer. Is there a way that it can be modified to use with FeedBlitz?

Thank you.

Wow...this is too bad. I am using the FeedBlitz widget but like the Genesis one. Perhaps the Geneis one will be changed as I hear that Google will be doing away with it soon. They already don't support it. It's only a matter of time.

Google is dropping the feedburner API.

That is not the same as dropping feedburner.

And yes - I have read the same blog posts. ;) In fact, I read one today that said the feedburner feeds will continue to work.

That may be true...but like Seth Godin, I like FeedBlitz's ability to totally customize my posts being sent out via RSS and e-mail. FeedBurner is very lame in my humble opinion. I just sent FeedBlitz an e-mail. I will also send one to the Genesis eNews and Update developer to see what their plans are.

That widget is a core Genesis widget.

We'll handle it at some point - but not until there is something firm from Google themselves.

Thanks, Andrea. I know that the eNews widget is a core Genesis widget...and I simply loved it when I used FeedBurner. I hate not being able to use it now. Do you really think Google will ever make a firm announcement? I believe that they will just walk away from it...as they have appeared to. Isn't there a way the eNews widget can be modified to use both FeedBlitz and FeedBurner? That would be awesome.

I know it only uses FeedBurner...that's the point I was trying to make. I wish it used both. I like the eNews widget but do not like the functionality of FeedBurner.

All we did was style the widget for some themes.

You are free at any time, with any theme to use a text widget with whatever signup code you like.

Thanks, Andrea. Hopefully, Genesis will add FeedBlitz in the future. I'll limp along with the FeedBlitz widget for now. Even Seth Godin...the #1 blogger in the world...has the lame FeedBlitz widget. Oh well. It is what it is. I still love Genesis.
