Default Create a blog within website

My blog is currently set up like this
livelaughstudios.com/category/give or
livelaughstudios.com/category/pray etc.

I would like blog posts to be found at livelaughstudios.com/blog
and / or
livelaughstudios.com/blog/category/give or
livelaughstudios.com/blog/category/pray etc.

I would like the word blog to come first so that when people arrive to my website they have the option to choose my photography page at

livelaughstudios.com/photography
or my blog page located at
livelaughstudios.com/blog

Is this something you could answer for me or is it something I would need to ask in the wordpress forums?

Hope all that makes sense. Thanks for reading!

Create a Page called blog. This creates the right /blog/ permalink.

On the right side of the page, in the Edit Page window, click the drop-down for Page Templates.

Selecte the Blog Page template.

Thanks for your reply Andrea.
I have already done the things you suggested but can't figure out how to get the permalinks to read
.com/blog/category/....

I have the blog page, with blog page template chosen
and I have the categories set up.

To make the permalinks appear as .com/blog/category/
would this be something I would do in the permalinks settings under optional?

Sorry Andrea but could you be more specific? I guessed that might be the proper place to handle it but have no idea what I would do to set it up.

I checked the wordpress support forums but am not having much luck, though I did come across posts from you about permalinks so I thought you might have some more insight for me as to what I need to do.

Thanks! : )

Fill in the custom permalink option with blog/ in front of what you want. The /category/ part will work automatically.

Example:

blog/%postname%
