Default Portfolio that allows multiple images and multiple categories per project

I'm about to create a new site for the company, Doo Consulting LLC - http://www.DooConsulting.net.

The company is in the commercial building niche (think architecture), where portfolios are stocked with multiple images of a single project. And each of those projects can fall under multiple categories - a residential building with first floor retail, for example, would be categorized as both "Residential" and "Retail," and it might even go under the "Sustainability" category if it were LEED-certified.

Perhaps I can just tag the pages and pull them through using widgets. Or if I need to create a taxonomy, can the page get multiple categories assigned to it?

How can I implement this in StudioPress? I am looking at using the Minimum theme, but if it precludes this functionality, I may need to choose a theme that can do what I describe.

Again, the functionality/solution I'm looking for needs to provide both multiple categories per project and multiple photos per project.

Thanks for your help.

Matt

Use regular posts with regular categories. You can tag a post multiple times and categorize a post in multiple ways.

Plus you can add as many images as you like to a post. And WordPress already has a build in gallery.

minimum currently does not allow for multiple categories - you'd have to add more code.

Thank you, Andrea. How do I determine which themes are built to support multiple categories?

Alternatively, is the code that must be added to allow for multiple categories in Minimum difficult for a newbie to implement?

Any and every WordPress theme supports multiple categories.
