Default Rename Child Theme

Can I rename existing child themes after customization (just like folder name, stylesheet, function etc)?"

you should probably do it before activating hte theme but you can do it after customizing it. You need to activate the "new" theme because when you change the name WordPress will think the old theme was deleted and a new one added.

Whatever you do, do not change the template: genesis line in the style.css file.
