Smile Mystery Subscribers in WP Admin Users area

Hi Studiopress,

Yesterday, I realised a list of subscribers in my WP Admin in the Users menu. I wonder what this list of about 15 people are doing there?

I have a mail chimp account which also has subscribers to my email list. But the names subscribed in the WPAdmin 'Users' area are totally different.

Can you help me understand this mystery?

Thanks,
Simon

Users in the admin area as subscribers are completely not connected to your mailing list.

If they have nonsensical names, then it;s just spam.

Turn off registration.

Thanks for the reply.

Their names are quite normal, so I guess it's not spam. Okay, I will turn off registration.

But how did they come to be subscribers and where is the entry coming from?

Thanks

Do you have any plugins that take your users and add them to your mailing lists?
