select/deselect categories toggle

Hi,
how can I remove the select/deselect categories toggle from the edit post widget ?

strange , before I install genesis it wasn't there , and when I hover on it with firebug it shows genesis-category-checklist-toggle.

also I commented this line in genesis admin.js and its gone

//jQuery('<p><span id="genesis-category-checklist-toggle" class="button">' + genesisL10n.category_checklist_toggle + '</span></p>').insertBefore('ul.categorychecklist');

but I don't want to modify core files , any other solutions ?

I must be misunderstanding what option you are talking about. Could you post a screen shot of the setting. Thanks.

Thanks, I thought you were referring to a different screen.

This code can be disabled without editing core but it is kind of complicated and can affect updates because you will have to bypass the Genesis admin js with your own.

You would remove the admin load scripts action with

PHP Code:

remove_action( 'admin_enqueue_scripts', 'genesis_load_admin_scripts' ); 


Then you need to build your own action and admin script to replace it.

is it bad to do what I did by commented the line above ?

If you edit Genesis files those edits will be lost on update.
