I dislike the disabling as much as you do... I think its against accessibility standards..

Since I see - content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1" - in the source of the Megalithe homepage, it probably gets inserted through the "Add Viewport meta tag" in functions.php

If you remove the ", maximum-scale=1" the site should behave like the other responsive themes again.
