Custom Permalinks

I am resetting my permalinks (fortunately--or unfortunately--I don't have many posts or subscribers yet to really mess things up

)....

I'm going to use the custom setup. Do I simply place /%category%/%postname%/ in the common settings or do I also add my url to the tag ?
