Double posts list just like on copyblogger

Hi, I want to make posts list in a way it's implemented on copyblogger - there are two newest on the top taking all the width and others are coupled up all the way down to the bottom of the list.

I figured I'll be needing WP Category Post List Widget but I don't known how to make it work that way.
