Inserting Video in the Hompade of the corporate theme

I have an FLV video (528 by 209.5) I'd like to place above on the homepage of the corporate theme site. I'd like it to be centered, below the nav bar and above the Home middle widget.

I've tried experimenting, but have been able to get a suitable result. I also noticed that the drop down menus become hidden by the video. How do you get them to show over top, even if the video is playing?
