Problems updating to Genesis v1.8

After updating the genesis simple sidebars plugin there was this error: "Class 'Genesis_Admin_Basic' not found".

This article http://wordpress.org/support/topic/f...imple-sidebars said, that the solution is to upgrade to Genesis 1.8.

The problem is, that nothing works. I went to the theme settings and then back to dashboard, but there is still no prompt for any update.

Also this link in the post: http://www.studiopress.com/support/f...splay.php?f=72 said after logging in: "You do not have permission to access this page".

Is there any other solution to solve this problems?
