Default Custom fields

My client does virtual tours for her properties and I want to create a custom field on the listings page with thumbnails to link to QuickTime virtual tours that will open with Shadowbox. I can copy the css for the listing id to create a tour id for this field, but how do I call it, php-wise? I read somewhere on the forum about adding custom fields and the meta-data coding information to insert for it, but I can't for the life of me find it now, even with a search.

Also, once I create it, do I just code it into the write-panel.php and listing.php pages like the additional pictures?
